BECOMING AN INTERN
Candidates with interests in tutoring, coaching, computer science, and solar technology are encouraged to apply. Skills in SAT preparation, software development, and constructing solar energy systems would be an asset.
Interns will teach students math and English skills and then mentor them in the college application process.
Renewable Energy Program
Interns will conduct workshops using the We Share Solar curriculum and Solar Suitcase.
Interns are required to train students in solar technology, contribute to the illumination of off-grid households via solar home lighting systems, provide practical training lessons in installing community-level solar applications such as computer labs and water pumps, empower beneficiaries through education and capacity building, and will mobilize citizen-sector support for efforts to eradicate energy poverty. For this project, IIP interns will also install We Share Solar suitcases at power deficient schools.
"I know a lot more about electricity and energy production and other new technologies."
Software Development Program
Interns will provide students with basic education in software development and promoting entrepreneurship that capitalizes on emerging technology and markets.
Interns will expose students to current information on technologies that include web development, mobile development, networking, robotics, and other areas of computer science and communications.
There are currently no active application cycles for this program.
